▶ CHECK IN

For our first month, in lieu of an Activity Check, we would like you to check in and register your continued interest in Systemwide! You do not have to provide proof of your activity, but it is compulsary that you comment and fill out the below form. This will ensure all administration things are in order.

We also have a field that asks for game feedback. This part is optional, but would be highly useful as we continue to develop and grow our game!

Characters that are not checked in will be swept, as per Activity Check rules. Please comment before midnight EST, March 31.

▼ COMMENT FORM

Just comment with the below form, filled out.

Feedback: I love everything so much!! People have given some really good feedback already, but I would definitely also be excited to see more setting info that addresses day-to-day life. Technology level & availability is something I've particularly puzzled over recently, for example what accessing the network even looks like, are we all using smart phones or nineties desktop computers here or what, etc. But just having more concrete setting information to turn to would be great, as others have said much more eloquently.

One specific suggestion though: I was really excited to see the Mission Control page go up, and I know it's still under construction. Low-Clearance Mission sounds like a great mechanic for giving players some direction without requiring so much mod GMing, and I'm excited to see where that goes. But it made me wonder if something similar couldn't be established for non-ZDG "missions" too, to create more opportunities for non-ZDG rp and help players feel more comfortable engaging with the setting as a whole. For example, something like the Job Board at Juncture in ye olden days of yore, which provided a brief, basic structure for a "side-quest" that utilized the setting and minor NPCs without requiring much mod involvement, aside from an info-dump PM'd to one or more of the players who signed up for each quest.

Personally, that's something I found incredibly helpful (or potentially helpful, anyway) both for kicking off new/unexpected CR and for getting a clear, concise sense of the setting without that "oh god oh god what am I doing" feeling of making things up completely on my own, and without needing to rely solely on the mods either. It might even be cool to have a screened "drop box" post for players to submit ideas, so not all of the world-building has to come from the mods, and players who do feel comfortable in the setting can stretch their world-building legs a little with enough mod oversight to maintain consistency. Just a thought! And forgive me if that's, y'know, exactly what y'all were already planning for Low-Clearance Missions, in which case I'm just here to radiate excitement. o_o
