Despite being one of the great number of redpills now roaming about Zion and its sibling cities, Isaac Clarke is less a fish out of water than he wants to be. A world where humanity has long passed its glory days, scrounging for resources just to get by, besieged by a monstrous enemy intent on using all organic life for parts? It all sounds a little too familiar for his comfort, and two months in he's still not too sure that this isn't all some kind of complicated act put on to extract valuable secrets from him without his knowledge. It's happened to him more than once.
But hey, at least the tech here all works more-or less like it's supposed to. Even if everything else was some big sadistic lie, all those years spent studying engineering and fixing spaceships are still good for something. And there aren't any alien signals being beamed into his brain anymore, so that's a plus.
