In his Matrix, Wedge Antilles was a famed pilot and general for the Rebel Alliance and its successor, the New Republic. The ace of aces of his galaxy, Antilles (together with Luke Skywalker) created and led Rogue Squadron, an elite starfighter squadron, and Wraith Squadron, a elite hybrid starfighter/commando unit. He's the only pilot to survive both Death Star runs.

His background as a leader of a rebellion has made his transition into the Real World seamless. Dutiful and competent, Wedge has spent half a year acquainting himself with the technology of Zion as a mechanic, taking a special interest in the shipyards and, particularly, its hovercrafts.

He's primed to sit in a cockpit once more.

THE FOLLOWING FILE CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE SECOND
SEASON OF MARVEL'S AGENTS OF SHIELD.

In the Hunan provence of China, Whitehall kidnapped and slaughtered Daisy's inhuman mother and cannibalized her organs to steal her longevity, sending her father, Dr. Calvin Zabo, into a murderous rampage. SHIELD agents discovered her alone there, labeled her an 084 (object of unknown origin), and shipped her into the foster system to protect her from the monster. SHIELD moved her from home to home, and she eventually shed the name "Mary Sue Poots" in favor of calling herself "Skye."

She uses her array of talents in the pursuit of what's just and fair. Growing up without a stable home life left Skye a free spirit, unbound to any one location, any one group, any one allegiance. She served herself and her own moral code. To her, the 'right thing' surrounds the idea of freedom of information. Where Lois Lane became a journalist, Skye became a hacker (well, hacktivist). She joined the Rising Tide to send a message, to become a revolutionary, and to fight The Man. This attitude carries forth well into her SHIELD career, and she doesn't seem to place much stock in rules or regulations, not exactly viewing herself superior to or outside of them, but rather not caring for the consequences that she brings on herself when disregarding them. She's willing to take the punishment to do what she perceives as right, and for Skye, that often means acting outside of the rulebook.

Quippy, sarcastic, and unapologetically exuberant and passionate, Skye makes a terrible agent because she's often impulsive and prioritizes her own judiciousness over the work of the agency. Skye is not some master manipulator like Ward and Romanoff, but she is a deeply empathic person who has a lot of understanding of how people work—especially lonely people, and those fighting for their families. This allows her to connect to people in a way that a bureaucratic giant might fail to. She survives the tragedy of her life by maintaining a carefree, easygoing, optimistic attitude, declaring cynicism "unhelpful." The exception rears its head in HYDRA, particularly when Ward is revealed to be one of them.

Prior to her extraction, Benevenuta had just abandoned the life of Anna Matveyevna Zimanova via a messy "accidental" death in public (Zimanov was not heard by anyone else to mutter you spiteful witch when he picked up her body and prevented any onlookers from approaching as it began to heal itself). The year was 1782 and she had been married to a Saint Petersburg nobleman for several years; she was at a loose end when she was approached for extraction, and in retrospect will say that she agreed to wake up simply to see if she truly would. She lived for over two hundred years in her own matrix as an assassin, raised almost from birth in a cult that believed the purpose of Immortals was to cull the chaff of humanity and guide it towards the correct moral path, and has since struggled with the culture shock of not only going from 18th century Russia to the technological advancements of the real but also the realization that her immortality was an illusion perpetuated by manipulation of machinery, and not the divine duty she had been raised to believe it was.

She could be taking it a lot worse.

Once destined for a career as Defense Minister against the rise of the machines in his world, 17 years after his extraction, Metzger is now the Captain of the Nidhoggr, a small hovercraft known for her high turnover. She's been grounded for the past year for repairs after an undisclosed incident that caused extensive damage and resulted in the deaths of over half her crew. Ask him about it sometime.

His rumored connections with black market dealing run deep; in addition to stonewalling Captains more open to cooperation with their artificially intelligent overlords, he has a reputation for keeping his promises and making good on his threats.

His value to the Council presumably lies in his determination to take care of business in humanity’s best interest, one way or another.

William Cage, but you can call him Bill, came from a world devastated by alien invasion. This was someone else's problem, for the most part, before one day it became his. But that's all ancient, fictional history. He has been unplugged for three years and has been on one ship since, a hovercraft called the Nidhoggr. Last year, he was promoted to First Officer, after a set of circumstances marked mysterious, but resulted in the casualties of many people on board her that day. He is fairly solid as a Matrix operative and knows more about how people onboard a ship works than he does a ship itself.
